Der Staat hatte uns über etliche Jahre wegen unseres Musikgeschmacks und unseres Äußeren wie Feinde behandelt. Diese Rolle hatten wir angenommen. Wir hatten uns stark politisiert und nutzten unsere schwer erkämpften Freiräume nicht mehr nur, um unser Lebensg efühl auszukosten, sondern bauten ein Netz aus komplett autonomen Strukturen auf. Wir fanden Wege, den Wehrdienst zu verweigern, unsere Meinung auch öffentlich zu sagen, und wir redeten, wie uns der Schnabel gewachsen war. Wir gingen nicht zur Wahl, weil wir diese nicht als solche anerkannten. Unserer Kompromisslosigkeit hatte der Staat nichts entgegenzusetzen.Punk war das Beste, was uns in der DDR passieren konnte. Wir wurden diskriminiert, gejagt und willkürlich weggesperrt, trotzdem waren wir freier als alle anderen. Es war die intensivste Zeit meines Lebens.
