Die Blattkritik ist in vielen Redaktionen regionaler Zeitungen ein unbeliebter Tagesordnungspunkt. Nicht selten scheitert sie an zu viel Eigenlob und zu wenig Zeit, persönlichen Befindlichkeiten und oberflächlicher Kritik. Dabei sollte die Blattkritik eigentlich der Qualitätssteigerung dienen. Doch wie kann sie sinnvoll eingesetzt werden, um ein Medienprodukt sowohl zu prüfen als auch nachhaltig zu verbessern - und gleichzeitig nicht mehr für Frust sorgen? Das herauszufinden, ist das maßgebliche Forschungsinteresse dieses Buchs, dessen Thema in der wissenschaftlichen Literatur bisher kaum beachtet wurde. Ursprünglich wurde es als Masterthesis im Studiengang "Journalismus und Medienwirtschaft" an der FH Kiel erarbeitet.Die Blattkritik soll die Produktqualität messen, deswegen ist dieser Arbeit ein Überblick über den theoretischen Forschungsstand des Qualitätsbegriffs im Journalismus vorangestellt. Anschließend zeigt die Autorin - basierend auf einer quantitativen anonymen Befragung von knapp 300 RedakteurInnen regionaler Tageszeitungen und einer qualitativen Befragung von Experten aus überregionalen Medienhäusern - Lösungen für das Dilemma Blattkritik auf und bietet schließlich eine konkrete Handreichung für eine erfolgreiche, tägliche Qualitätskontrolle.
