Der Traktat Nedarim "Gelübde" befasst sich mit den Bestimmungen zur Rechtsgültigkeit von bedingten und unbedingten Selbstverpflichtungen. Ein Großteil der behandelten Beispiele behandelt Formen des Genussverzichtes infolge eines Gelübdes. Dabei werden dem Leser die vielfältigen und weitreichenden Konsequenzen vor Augen geführt, die ein solches Gelübde für das soziale Gefüge einer Familie oder die gesamte Dorf- bzw. Stadtgemeinschaft haben konnte. Der Traktat Nezirut behandelt die Naziräatsgelübde. Er behandelt auf der Grundlage von Num 6 die Verpflichtungen, die eine Person eingeht, die sich dieser Form der temporären Selbstweihe unterzieht. Von besonderer Bedeutung sind dabei die rabbinischen Bestimmungen hinsichtlich der Dauer, der Unterbrechung und der Auslösung des Naziräats am Jerusalemer Tempel.
