What branding tips would you give to a female founder?
Get very clear on who you are serving first. All of my branding fell perfectly into place after I clearly defined my ideal client. Solid branding made it easier to communicate and connect with my clients, which ultimately resulted in more sales.
Also, you can’t fake the funk, especially if you’re the face of your brand. There is a lot of pressure to follow branding trends and to take on the persona of other influential people. Don’t do it! People are smart; they can see right through it. Be true to yourself and your mission because people are eager to be served by someone just like you.
What habits keep you on track?
The more successful I become in business, the more I realize how important it is to have a regular morning routine. I wake up around 5 a.m., meditate, read or listen to something inspiring, and work out. All of those activities are non-negotiable because they set my day up for success.
Another habit I practice is to go outside of my comfort zone regularly. If I’m too comfy and cozy, that means I’m not changing and growing. A little discomfort won’t kill you.
What’s the best piece of advice you would give to an entrepreneur?
Focus, be patient, and don’t give up too soon. I’ve worked with thousands of young women who aspire to quit their day jobs in pursuit of their passion for entrepreneurship. The biggest mistake I see them make is throwing in the towel too soon because their idea didn’t get them rich right away. Your big break is coming; you have to stay the course.
