Da gab es Ā»virtuelle ReisenĀ« - ein Notbehelf, da DDR-Journalisten nur selten den Westen besuchen konnten. Wenn doch, wurde eine parteiliche Sicht auf den ideologischen Gegner erwartet; zumindest das berĆ¼hmte Haar in der Suppe. Erkundungen im eigenen Lager jedoch waren Ā»Besuche bei FreundenĀ«, dem die Reportagen zu entsprechen hatten. Solche ZwƤnge entfielen nach 1989 - oder doch nicht ganz. Denn mancher Reisebericht ist jetzt mehr freundliche Werbung denn objektive Wertung. Auch die Gesinnung des Reporters prƤgt nicht selten sein Bild des bereisten Landes, ob er will oder nicht.All das reflektieren Richters Reisereportagen; sie bedienen nicht nur die Neugier des Lesers Ć¼ber fremde Welten und Menschen, sondern sollen auch dessen eigene Urteilskraft schƤrfen. Richter studierte und promovierte an der Karl-Marx-UniversitƤt Leipzig, bildete dort selbst Journalisten aus. Er arbeitete fĆ¼r Tages- und Wochenzeitungen der DDR und der Bundesrepublik und betreibt seit 2006 den Blog Ā»blogsgesang.deĀ«.
