MusicStep 1 - Create Music
Think Of The Type Of Mood You Want To Create
First off, start with the instrument that you play Best and build a chord structure, if you donβt have the feeling that you can easily create a melody to the chord changes then donβt waste your time thinking about it, just try another chord progression until You accomplish this. The most common Chord progression is I β V β vi β IV (G β D β Em β C). The Second is I β vi β IV β V (G β Em β C β D) the third is I β V β vi β iii β IV β I β IV β V (G β D β Em β Bm β C β G β C β D). Once you have the desired cord progressions for all parts, Example: (Intro, Verse, Pre-Chorus, Refrain, Verse2, Pre-Chorus2, Refrsin2, Bridge, Double Chorus, Outro) Once you have that mapped out, find a Beat that fits all of the parts with a few variations, to match the different parts. Map out the instrumentation, Ex. Strings, Guitar, percussion, sweeps etc. Music should tap into the emotions of the listener, so when making Music try to affect someone hopefully in a positive manner. Remember also that a good song is not determined by the complexity of the production, a great Song could simply consist of just guitar, or just Piano, as long as it fits in telling a story to get the true feeling across. So in order to create Music, you donβt have to be this Genius that plays all the instruments perfectly, so with that said come up with an Idea in your head how your Song should sound, then work on bringing this to immediate reality without hesitation. Because procrastination Is just another word for a Lazy Ass ...
