Naylor's The Irish Setter - It's History, Temperament And Training, published in London in 1932, is a working breeder's book in eleven chapters: the ancestry and the famous old strains, the winners and the names that made them, how to choose a dog, the breed in the house, the standard description, training for sport and for field trials, the famous modern strains, hints on breeding and on showing, ailments and remedies, and a closing chapter on where the breed was going.
The frontispiece is Cecil Aldin's sketch of Field Trial Champion Sulhamsted Sheilin D'or - Sulhamsted being the dominant field-trial kennel of the interwar years, and Aldin a sporting artist collected in his own right.
