Ce volume réunit des études portant sur les enjeux linguistiques du phénomène de la médiation ainsi que sur quelques-unes de ses nombreuses manifestations dans la vie quotidienne: médiation civile, sanitaire, linguistico-culturelle. Par une volonté délibérément interdisciplinaire, les contributions données par des experts de la langue et du droit et par des médiateurs professionnels apportent un nouvel éclairage sur les mécanismes d'interaction entre la langue, le processus de médiation et ses domaines d'application. Les auteurs approfondissent les principes théoriques essentiels qui permettent d'aborder et de cerner la notion transdisciplinaire de médiation et surtout, d'après les approches méthodologiques qui conviennent à leurs disciplines, ils analysent des faits linguistiques, parfois de manière contrastive, qui caractérisent les pratiques communicatives de la médiation.
