Das Buch befasst sich mit den Wirksamkeitsvoraussetzungen für die Verlängerung befristeter Arbeitsverhältnisse. Das Hauptaugenmerk liegt auf der Frage, ob sich die Änderung von Arbeitsbedingungen im Zuge der Vertragsverlängerung als befristungsschädlich erweisen kann. Im Fokus steht ferner die Europarechtskonformität von Kettenbefristungen. Der Autor setzt sich dezidiert mit der Entscheidung des EuGH vom 26.01.2012 und der Rechtsprechung des BAG zur rechtsmissbräuchlichen Verwendungsweise von mehrfach befristeten Arbeitsverhältnissen auseinander. Er widmet sich schließlich unter Berücksichtigung des § 41 S. 3 SGB VI der Frage, unter welchen Voraussetzungen die befristete Fortsetzung des Arbeitsverhältnisses nach Eintritt in das Rentenalter vereinbart werden kann.
