Sie laden uns ein, die biblischen Texte mit den Augen derer zu lesen, die in dem Land groß geworden sind, das verschiedenen Konfessionen und Religionen heilig ist, aus dem aber viele von ihnen in den Jahren 1947–1949 vertrieben wurden. Es ist diese Katastrophe ('Nakba'), die oft zum Thema ihrer Bilder geworden ist.Die Bilder sprechen von Menschen, die durch die Vergangenheit und durch gegenwärtige Erfahrungen traumatisiert, aber nicht verzweifelt sind, sondern die Suche nach ihrer Identität und die Hoffnung nicht aufgeben, daß Frieden zwischen den Israelis und Palästinensern möglich ist und Jerusalem wieder eine Stadt wird, für alle Menschen offen und frei zugänglich. Die Kirchen sind hier besonders aufgefordert, sich auf diese Botschaften einzulassen und tätige Solidarität zu leben.
