Seit Jahren bearbeitet der Verfasser Briefe und Berichte früherer Missionare der Basler Mission. Unter dem Titel "Andere Europäer" sind sieben Studien zur Arbeit der Basler Mission in Westafrika zusammengefasst: Zwei widmen sich der Mission unter dem Dagomba in Togo (1912-16). Eine andere nimmt den oft vergessenen Missionsversuch in Liberia (1827-31) auf. Die den dortigen Missionaren mitgegebene "Instruction von 1827" wurde zu einem Arbeitspapier im Jubiläumsjahr (2015). An der Goldküste wurde Philipp Henke (1829) zu einer ersten tragenden Säule. Nebenprodukt einer anderen Studie war der Bericht über einen "Afrikanischen Friedensschluss" von 1870. Die Transkription der Tagebücher des Missionars Fritz Ramseier aus der Gefangenschaft in Aschanti (1869-74) führte zur Darstellung von dessen Beziehung zum Aschanti-König Kofi Karikari.[Other Europeans. Under the title "Other Europeans" seven studies on the work of the Basel Mission in West Africa are collected: two of them address the Mission among the Dagombas in Togo (1912-16). Another study examines the often forgotten mission effort in Liberia (1827-31). The missionaries there had been given the "instruction of 1827" which much later became a working paper in the anniversary year (2015). At the Gold Coast, Philipp Henke (1829) acted as a first support for the mission. By-product of another study was the report on an "African peace agreement" in 1870. The transcription of the diaries of the missionary Fritz Ramseier which he wrote during his imprisonment among the Ashanti (1869-74) led to an account on his relations with the Ashanti king Kofi Karikari.
