Die Kirche ist ihrem Selbstverständnis nach eine öffentliche Institution. Wie wird dieser Anspruch eingelöst? Dieser Frage ging die interdisziplinäre Tagung "Raum. Kirche. Öffentlichkeiten – Dynamiken aktueller Präsenz" nach, die 2018 in Hamburg stattfand und in diesem Sammelband dokumentiert wird. Die Beiträge untersuchen die vielgestaltigen Öffentlichkeiten, an denen Gemeinden und kirchliche Einrichtungen partizipieren und die sie durch vielfältige kirchliche Orte und Räume selbst erzeugen. Die Beiträge reflektieren das Spannungsfeld zwischen Raum, Kirche und Öffentlichkeit aus philosophischer, soziologischer, systematisch-theologischer und praktisch-theologischer Perspektive. Ergänzt werden sie durch verschiedene kirchliche Praxisbeispiele, die die Interdependenz zwischen kirchlichen Räumen und adressierten Öffentlichkeiten exemplarisch entfalten.Space. Church. Public. Church. Public. Dynamics of Current Presence" that took place in 2018 in Hamburg, and which is documented in this volume. The contributions explore the diverse public spheres in which congregations and church institutions participate and which they create themselves by means of a diversity of ecclesial places and spaces. The contributions reflect on the tension between space, church and public from philosophical, sociological, systematic-theological, and practical-theological perspectives. They are supplemented by practical examples that exemplarily show the interdependency between ecclesiastical spaces and the public sphere that is being addressed.
