'Von Grafen und Predigern' – unter dieser Überschrift vereinigt der Band die Vorträge zweier Tagungen, die in den Jahren 2010 und 2011 in Eisleben und Mansfeld durchgeführt wurden. Im Mittelpunkt der ersten Tagung standen Graf Albrecht von Mansfeld und sein Hofprediger Michael Coelius. Ein weiterer evangelischer Prediger, Kaspar Güttel, war Hauptfigur der zweiten Tagung. Die Trias Albrecht – Coelius – Güttel prägte die Reformationsgeschichte der Grafschaft Mansfeld maßgeblich. Die diesen drei Persönlichkeiten gewidmeten Aufsätze bilden den Kern des Bandes. Zusammen mit weiteren biographischen und thematischen Studien entsteht ein schärferes Bild der bis heute nur unzureichend erforschten Reformationsgeschichte des Mansfelder Landes.
