Der Herausgeber hat bei der Katalogisierung der Eisenacher Ministerialbibliothek einen in der bisherigen Amsdorff-Forschung unbekannten Manuskriptband wiedergefunden. Er enthält insgesamt 23 Schriften und Fragmente Nicolaus von Amsdorffs. Die Schriften sind in der Zeit zwischen 1546 und 1562/1563 entstanden und geben einen Einblick in das Denken und die theologische Arbeit Amsdorffs während der letzten neunzehn Jahre seines Lebens, die ausgefüllt waren mit seinem kompromisslosen Kampf um die Bewahrung der reinen lutherischen Lehre in einer Zeit des politischen und konfessionellen Umbruchs. Für die vorliegende Edition hat der Herausgeber zwölf Schriften ausgewählt, die alle erstmalig im Druck erscheinen. Den Transkriptionen der Texte sind historische Einleitungen vorangestellt, die durch erläuternde Anmerkungen ergänzt werden. Alle lateinischen Texte und Textstücke wurden ins Deutsche übersetzt. Die Ausgabe ist damit auch für den lateinunkundigen Leser verständlich.[Nicolaus von Amsdorff. This volume contains 23 manuscripts and fragments by Nicolaus von Amsdorff, which had been composed between 1546 and 1562/1563. They clearly represent Amsdorff's way of thinking and his theological work during the last 19 years of his life. At this time he dedicated himself to an uncompromising fight for the preservation of the Lutheran doctrine during political and confessional changes. For this edition 12 annotated articles have been selected and printed for the first time. All Latin texts have been translated into German.
