About this book

In a master seminar led by Dr. Kristina Wied and Dr. Florian Mayer examined the usability of the website of the Archdiocese of Bamberg (www.erzbistum-bamberg.de) in the summer semester of 2016 at the Otto Friedrich University.For this purpose, five user groups were identified, which belong to the most important target groups of the website: media representatives, priests, administrative staff, young people and volunteers.In the field phase, three test subjects were observed when using the website per group and interviewed before and after use. The subjects were given several general and group-specific tasks, which they had to solve using the "method of thinking aloud". The surfing behavior as well as the verbalization of usage were recorded and transcribed using a video camera.The book represents the final report of this teaching research project, in which a total of ten master students took part. In addition to the detailed documentation of the research project, the theoretical foundations of the study as well as concrete recommendations for action can be found.
