Keep the Faith
About this book
This book of inspirational poetry was compiled by me consisting of events, movies, modern times, and most importantly, people who have had a dramatic impact on my life. It is with sincerity that I hope people will be touched and rely on faith to march forward both in simple and difficult situations.
I was inspired to write this book by my mother's devout dedication to her Catholic faith and how she carried it out every day. My mother spent her time doing things always for others and her needs were put on hold. During my darkest times, she would remind me to "keep the faith" so that she would have a respectable legacy to leave me with.

Acknowledgments of Gratitude
I am forever indebted in gratitude to the following for their contributions in helping to make my book a reality.
First and foremost, I thank God my Savior for loving me so much that His only beloved Son Jesus died on a cross and suffered excruciating emotional as well as physical pain so that I too may endure both types of pain and learn how to forgive all people, especially those who have hurt me the most. I am thankful to every individual having caused my experiences of pain which have inspired me to overcome and look for the positive in every negative aspect of my life.
I thank my mom and dad in heaven from the bottom of my heart for their devotion to God, family, friends, work, and life. I could not have custom-ordered a more perfect match to be my parents.
I thank my two brothers, Roger and Karl, who have both returned to heaven. They taught me to be a fighter, to never give up, to advocate for the rights of the people I love most and to respect myself and my rights.
I thank my grandparents: Edward and Geraldine Khuns and Maurice and Erminia Zellner, residents of heaven also for all of the memories and love shared.
I thank two beloved deceased friends: Diane Farina and Renee Placona for their devoted friendship toward me during both difficult and happy times.
I thank my beloved, deceased father-in-law: Nicholas Joseph Proto (1926–1990) for loving and respecting me and honoring me as his daughter-in-law. He suffered from extensive lung damage as the result of his dedication as a NYC fireman and from heavy smoking during a stressful job opportunity as a real estate salesman. His long-term illness provoked not one complaint from him, relying on a feeding tube and an oxygen tank to stay alive so that he could unselfishly watch the cooking channel on television and regularly enjoy Regis and Kathy Lee Gifford on their morning talk show. He was always ready to lend a helping hand to me in my time of need and to joyously cook his potato salad for me (which is the recipe from which I learned to add grated carrots to) as he was proud of his army cooking days! Nick also drove a bus for a while and was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and father-in-law, neighbor, and frien...
