Dies soll hier geändert werden: Die Vorhut bildet der vorliegende Band, der die ausführlich begründeten, zivilrechtlichen Urteile der Jahre 1881 und 1882, an denen EUGEN HUBER mitgewirkt hat, einem breiteren Publikum vorstellt.Der Grosse Rat des Kantons Basel-Stadt wählte am 14. März 1881 Herrn Prof. Dr. EUGEN HUBER zum Civilrichter. Und am 5. Dezember 1882 teilte das Justiz-Departement Basel-Stadt mit, dass es die Ehre habe, mitzuteilen, "dass Sie von derselben in heutiger Sitzung zu einem Mitglied der Notariatsprüfungskommission ernannt worden sind. "EUGEN HUBER nimmt seine Richtertätigkeit – neben seinen Aufgaben an der Universität Basel - sehr ernst: Kann er doch hier die Theorie in der Praxis prüfen/überprüfen und die Fähigkeit, Wesentliches von Unwesentlichem zu unterscheiden, stärken.
