About This Book

Leo Cicala, compositore elettroacustico, interprete acusmatico, live performer, insegnante. Vincitore del primo premio di composizione elettroacustica "Bangor Dylan Thomas Prize" nel Regno Unito, le sue composizioni sono eseguite in importanti festival in Europa, Giappone, sud America e negli Stati Uniti [www.acusma.it] UTIS [duration: 8'15"] for violin and electronics, composed in 2017 and revisited in 2021, is based on a mirror game between the voice of the violin and its electronic alter egos, with particular attention to the timbrical aspect. An artificial dialogue is established, at first relaxed and interlocutory and then tense and excited, in some sections in canon, which despite using lyrical gestures does not give way to singing and does not seek an immaculate aura.
