Nach dem Krieg zogen die politischen und militärischen Eliten 'Kriegslehren' von ganz unterschiedlicher Tiefe. Ebenso intensiv und umstritten waren die gesellschaftliche Verarbeitung und das Gedenken an diesen Krieg.
