Information
Downtown Dubai
The Burj Khalifa overlooks the Dubai Mall, the world’s biggest shopping temple with 1200 shops and attractions such as a three-storey aquarium, an ice rink and a dinosaur skeleton. Next door is the mesmerising Dubai Fountain with choreographed dance, music and light shows nightly. There are also good views from the rooftop of the striking new Dubai Opera.
To tap into Dubai’s creative scene, swing by the emerging Dubai Design District or head straight to the hip Alserkal Avenue complex. In the industrial district of Al Quoz, the latter is a cluster of warehouses-turned-art campus with cutting-edge galleries alongside hipster cafes, a community theatre, a chocolate factory, art-house cinema and other creative enterprises. For more regional art, scan the prestigious galleries at Gate Village at the monumental Dubai International Financial Centre.
