MusĂ©e d’Orsay & St-Germain des PrĂ©s

Literary buffs, antique collectors and fashionistas flock to this fabled part of Paris. Artists and writers such as Hemingway and Fitzgerald hung out here and further south in Montparnasse, where you’ll find surviving brasseries alongside redevelopments underway on its train station and landmark skyscraper.

Pay homage to writers Sartre and de Beauvoir and singer Serge Gainsbourg in the CimetiĂšre du Montparnasse and get a contemporary-art fix at the Fondation Cartier pour l’Art Contemporain. Stroll through the beautiful Jardin du Luxembourg en route to viewing Delacroix’ works in the Église St-Sulpice and MusĂ©e National EugĂšne Delacroix. Stop by the Église St-Germain des PrĂ©s and famous literary cafes such as Les Deux Magots. Entry to the MusĂ©e d’Orsay is cheaper in the late afternoon, so it’s an ideal time to check out its breathtaking collections.
