Kazimierz
For much of its 700-year history, Kazimierz was an independent town with its own municipal charter and laws. Its mixed Jewish and Christian populations created a pair of distinctive communities side by side over the centuries. These days, Kazimierz does double-duty. It’s home to many of the city’s most important Jewish-heritage sites as well as its most popular cafes, clubs and restaurants.
