Das Ziel dieser Untersuchung besteht darin, anhand einer repräsentativen Stichprobe festzustellen, ob und inwieweit familienrechtspsychologische Gutachten wissenschaftlichen Mindestanforderungen genügen. Zudem wird die Art und Qualität der Erfassung von Bindung analysiert. Die Stichprobe umfasst 116 Gutachten, die aus Vollerhebungen an vier Amtsgerichten stammen. Die Untersuchung zeigt, dass nur eine Minderheit der Gutachten zentrale fachliche Standards erfüllt. Ebenso wird in der überwiegenden Zahl der Gutachten nicht nachvollziehbar beschrieben, welches theoretische Konzept von Bindung der entsprechenden Diagnostik zugrunde liegt und wie Interpretationen zur Bindung der Kinder psychologisch-wissenschaftlich begründet werden.
