Ce volume recueille une série de travaux de figures notoires de la pensée russe, comme Roman Jakobson, Petr Savickij et Nicolas Troubetzkoy, qui ont marqué un seuil épistémologique dans l'histoire du structuralisme en général et de la linguistique structurale en particulier. Publiés initialement au début des années 1920 et 1930, à Berlin, à Prague et enfin à Paris, ces travaux forment un véritable mouvement intellectuel dont nous voudrions mettre en évidence la portée philosophique, mais également les enjeux politiques. Nous espérons ainsi contribuer à rendre possible une autre histoire du structuralisme linguistique qui en ne se limitant pas à répertorier les idées de la langue conçues par les linguistes, puisse mettre en lumiÚre les conditions épistémologiques permettant de construire la connaissance linguistique comme savoir structural des langues dans leur fonction sociale et historique.
