About This Book

This is a comprehensive study of the book of Hebrews, "the Bible in a nutshell, " focusing on the believer's indwelling of the Holy Spirit. In this "doctrinal, prophetic, and devotional" work, Dr. Jean has carefully organized his material for maximum impact of the message: The Messiahship and Priesthood of Jesus, God's Covenant with Israel, and historical context for biblical events. He offers fresh perspectives on frequently misinterpreted or misunderstood passages of Scripture and presents logical, biblically-supported arguments for each-all with a view to encouraging better more effective Christian growth. Jean has not only crafted a uniquely insightful analysis of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, one meant as much for laymen as for Bible scholars, but also a survey of pertinent and related prophecy and symbolism in the Book of Daniel. The author's stated purpose for this study composed of "many years of insight, inspiration, discussions, and lectures" is to "challenge, equip, and empower you to a new wave of devotion with God."

Preface
God Tabernacles with Man is an essential message for the Christian Church. The message centers on the book of Hebrews in the Holy Bible. The title: The Judgment and the Sanctuary was chosen because it is the highlight of the book of Hebrews. As God pronounces executive Judgment, He becomes a Sanctuary for His People by both the indwelling and safekeeping. “God tabernacles with man” means that God dwells in us by His Holy Spirit. God lives in us as He took his abode in Christ two thousand years ago. The messages in the book of Hebrews are timeless and appropriate for every generation up to the second return of our Lord Yahawasha Messiah (Jesus Christ). They summarize the Bible in a nutshell, focusing on how the types and the law are fulfilled in the Messiah. For this reason, the book of Hebrews can be considered as the little Bible. It contains what I call “The Immanuel message,” and is identical to the message of the antitypical Feast of Tabernacles. As you read, you will see how they are related.
The book of Hebrews offers an understanding of Jesus’ humanity and divinity. In the latter chapters, the author goes on to explain how Christ worked His way to becoming our high priest. The writer further explains how, when Christ’s work was done, He ascended to heaven and sat at the right hand of the Father. He was to remain there until his enemies become his footstool.
The priesthood of Jesus is superior to Aaronic priesthood; in that, it is forever. Similar to the Melchizedek priesthood, Jesus’s priesthood brings true peace once and forever. This treatise does not claim to know all that could be known about Melchizedek. Melchizedek, as a topic, is not entirely developed in the Scriptures. Therefore, we cannot say more than what the scriptures have to say on the topic. However, that which the Lord intended to say on the subject is revealed.
The covenants are a significant focus in this book because of the prevailing misunderstandings on the same. There is a misconception concerning what the New Covenant is and how it applies to Christians. The Christian church has not yet fully grasped what the New Covenant is. However, it is God’s will that Christians understand the message of the covenant. Hopefully, after interacting with this text, readers will realize a fuller revelation of the covenant.
The best way to treat this book is to begin with prayer. The ideas you will encounter in this text will require deep contemplation and devoted moments. This book is doctrinal, prophetic, and devotional. Some areas are more comfortable to absorb than others; more quickly and easily grasped. Some areas will require taking notes. When you are reading a difficult section, read it with the Bible in hand, look up the references given. There are a few quotes where the references are not immediately given because they were already cited. I firmly believe that after reading this book, you will come to understand the great themes that shape the Christian Church and how you can make a personal application in the Christian pathway.
Introduction
The theme in the book of Hebrews is maturity in the Christian faith. Another way to put it is, the book of Hebrews deals with the cleansing of God’s spiritual sanctuary, of which Christians are. The author forcibly places this theme at the forefront as the whole premise of Christ’s work. This maturity was exemplified through the life of Christ. The book was apparently written for those who understood the elements of Judean faith. The author of Hebrews does not criticize anyone for practicing the elementary aspects of Israel. Rather, he points out that it is a mistake not to follow through completely with a commitment made to Christ.
The author seeks to draw the reader’s attention with an appeal, particularly to the people of his time. “Therefore, we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest haply we drift away from them.” Chances are, if we do not give earnest heed to the things taught of the Lord, we will drift away from the truth (Heb.2:1). Salvation from sinning has been provided to us by the empowerment of Christ over his children (Heb. 2:18). “Christ is a Son, over his house,” whose house we are, if we hold fast to our hope (Heb. 3:6). We are partakers of Christ if we continuously remain in him and hold firm to the end (Heb. 3:14).
The life of a follower of Jesus is like a house where faith consistently takes its abode (Heb. 3:2, 3). This life is built on the founder, Jesus. From this faith springs the spark of activity that accomplishes the work of God in us. Our beliefs make us who we are and shape our values. If we do not have faith in something, it becomes difficult to put forth the effort to achieve related goals. The Lord desires us to understand the importance of cultivating faith in His promises. When we do not cherish actionable faith, a path for departure from conviction ensues (Heb. 3:12). It is, therefore, necessary that we continuously meditate on all His precious promises lest, at any time, we let them slip (Psalms 1:3).
He who has preeminence, the Apostle and High priest of our profession, the Maker and Builder of our faith, can keep us from falling (Jude 1:24, 25). The Lord wants to point out that He is the one sent (Apostle) to build and strengthen our beliefs and practices. We must continuously place our trust in Him. When we do this, we can know that He secures our salvation with the Spirit’s seal of promise (Heb. 3: l). He who begins the good work in us can finish it (Phil. 1:6; 2 Thess. 2:17).
