INTERVIEW OF
Evelyn Janet Gonzales Sanchez
Why this interview?
The reasons are essentially two.
The first is the course of the fifteen years provided for by the Law for the decadence of the State Secret.
The second is the invitation made to me by my attending physician, (First Aid of the San Giovanni Addolorata Hospital in Rome) to entrust to a writing my memories of that difficult period, so that memory would not be lost.
The invitation was addressed to me in a well - known restaurant in Rome.
La Fornace
via Angelo Emo located near the
Cappella Sistina frescoed by Leonardo da Vinci
and the
Musei Vaticani
The Fornace is skilfully managed by the excellent Paolo De Santis by his son Nicolò, helped by Egidio and by many other good boys of the staff Luigi, Mario, Amedeo “ il Pizzettaro”, the cook.
Wood-burning oven, a jovial but noisy environment characterized by photos of showbiz personalities,.
The food is great, the prices are fair and proportionate.
Are you talking about the Italian Secret Service?
The Sisde,
now Aise,
is the Civil Secret Service, branch of the
Ministry of Interior
subject to the Government of
Presidency of the Council of Ministers
The function of the Sisde is to protect the internal public order and defend the institutions of the State from criminal activities, especially terrorist activities, on the territory of the State.
This is mainly through the assumption of information (for this purpose the reserved funds will be pre-arranged, which will be discussed later).
The staff is a prefectorial career or comes from the State Police.
The Sisde consists of an administrative department and an operational department.
The internal documents and documents are covered by
State secret .
This restriction determines the exclusion of their content from disclosure.
Anyone who violates the state secret incurs criminal penalties.
The law states that state secrets decay after fifteen years.
This deadline may be extended by the President of the Council of Ministers (or other competent authorities).
For its own institutional purposes, the Sisde, in 1993, had a hundred and sixty billion lire available (current eighty million Euro), of which eighty as official funds and eighty reserved.
With the official funds, the ordinary expenses (salaries, rents, maintenance, etc.) were paid (and still pay).
The reserved funds, as mentioned, are used to pay for the information.
It differs from the Sismi,
now Aisi
military secret service, branch of the Ministry of Defence, preordained to neutralize the threats to the territory of the State, coming from abroad (above all the Middle East, North African countries).
The personnel belong to the “ Carabinieri” weapon and work mainly abroad.
The travel agents are very risky.
Agents are often involved in the turbulence of the foreign states in which they work.
The loss of the secrecy of one's own function results in arrest, torture and killing.
This justifies the lavish compensation that the operators of the Sismi perceive.
Directly related to the 2003 war in Iraq is the "Niger-Gatee" affair related to the transmission of false news from the Sismi to the United States of America on the purchase of Nigerian uranium by “ Saddam Hussein “.
Both services are coordinated by Cesis
What did he do at 40?
I spent my time between an insane (and secret) loving passion, profession, teaching and sport.
My days were held between
Court of Rome
The Sapienza University
and the
Forum Sporting Club.
Then I practised the forensic profession full time.
At university, I was gratified to pass on my knowledge to young people.
At the Institute, I helped them, with lessons, in the study of commercial law and, later, in the examination...
