El envejecimiento normal comporta una serie de cambios fisiológicos y neuroanatómicos, los cuales pueden afectar tanto al sustrato neural que subyace al funcionamiento cerebral normal, como a los diferentes procesos cognitivos que soportan. El deterioro cognitivo en las personas adultas mayores (PAMs) personas mayores, es una considerado una entidad clínica controvertida, sindicado como la pérdida o alteración de las funciones mentales, tales como memoria, orientación, lenguaje, reconocimiento visual, conducta, que interfiere con la actividad e interacción social, lo que se traduce en un problema de salud pública, que mayormente pasan desapercibidos por el personal médico o de enfermería. Sin embargo, dado la creciente casuística del problema del deterioro cognitivo resulta relevante estudiar en las PAMs la temática referida. En torno a ello, se investigó el efecto de la intervención mente cuerpo en el declive del deterioro cognitivo en personas adultas mayores del Asilo Santa Sofia de la ciudad de Huánuco.
