Chapter 4
The Power of a Testimony
Everyone has a personal testimony. It is the means of how they were delivered from the power of sin.
  1. Evangelism is a personal means of sharing this deliverance.
    1. Everyone came through Jesus.
    2. He was our example.
    3. Therefore, he commanded us to go.
The church, the body, itself has a testimony.
  1. Every person who has heard the good news; believed and declared Jesus as their Lord and Savior.
    1. The body must speak out today to help bring in the lost.
    2. The gospel can change their lives to become born again.
When the lost hear the power of the gospel, they began to have hope.
  1. There are those who have not seen the move of God.
    1. Witnessing is the only way the lost can be converted.
    2. Many are going to their graves lost and without hope.
    3. Jesus called us to bear fruit.
    4. The lost are all around us.
The hope comes from an individual thatā€™s empowered by the Holy Spirit.
  1. The Holy Spirit brings power to do the will of God.
    1. Jesus said, ā€œGo, Ye.ā€
    2. He who wins soul is wise.
    3. The lost cries out for help.
    4. ā€œHere I am, Lord, send me,ā€ is the cry of the evangelist.
The hope of the lost is gained by a believer.
  1. The right person is.
    1. God knows who to send to a lost soul.
    2. Thereā€™s a word in the believer that brings truth.
    3. It is Godā€™s will that all men be saved.
When we talk about the goodness of our Lord and what he has done for us by giving us eternal life, not to denounce the abundant life, and that has opened the door to go to heaven when we die. Thatā€™s the Good News.
When a believer shares the good news to the lost or an unbeliever and gains his soul, he becomes a soul winner. Upon hearing the gospel, that person can either accept or reject it. Either way, that person has done what he has been called to do, bring the lost to Christ.
Once the minister is prepared for this journey, he is sure to be:
  1. Focused on being led by the Spirit.
  2. Knowing that Jesus is the window is of attraction.
  3. Equipped with the Word of God by memorizing, learning, and obeying.
  4. Aware that God mined in sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ unto salvation.
  5. Familiar with the Steps to Peace with God.
  6. Knowledgeable of scripture and where to locate them in scriptures.
  7. Able to use the Bible and prayer that will give the minister confidence.
Either in oneā€™s family, community, or job, there is someone whoā€™s not sure of their salvation. They never accepted Christ as their Lord or Savior or perhaps struggling in life and in need of repentance. You must be focused without judging and realize by the leading of the Holy Spirit that this person is hurting, has lost hope, and is under some type of satanic attack.
In obedience to the Holy Spirit and leaning on the Word of God, everything will fall into place. Knowing that Jesus is in the midst, he becomes the center of attraction. You become focused when the person begins to share their problems or situations, so you listen until you are led by the Spirit to interject. Use your experience of your past and relate to what that person is going through. Instead of going straight to the Bible, you can explain how you were in a similar situation and how you now have hope in your new life. Knowing the personā€™s condition will help you to relate and softly prepare his/her heart for the Word.
In sharing the gospel, sometimes certain questions are asked to see where a person stands. Results from these questions are like a photograph or an X-ray showing where thereā€™s a need for healing. The soul winner becomes a technician and gives a report to the Great Physician. By prayer, the remedy for healing comes through the Great Physician who has the power to heal all sickness and diseases.
There are roadblocks that cause the affected to spread the word of God but remember, itā€™s Godā€™s will that all men be saved. Itā€™s every believerā€™s responsibility to bring awareness of the gospel to the lost. It is important for every believer to hear the condition of the lost and let them know that there is hope and that hope is in the Lord. We donā€™t have a lot of time to waste because no man knows the hour of the Lord.
Thatā€™s why we are challenged to present the good news of Christ. Rather we have the call of an evangelist, prophet, apostle, deacon, or just called as a Christian. We are all soul winners. Jesus has given us all, a story to tell. N...
