INTRODUCTION
1. All the information mentioned in this pack is available for consultation at the library of the British Film Institute. It is not a lending library and you will need to join if you wish to use its resources (please check any other libraries that you have access to before approaching the BFI). You can obtain a day pass, currently £5.00 or an annual pass, currently £25.00.
* PLEASE NOTE THAT DAY PASSES WILL ONLY BE AVAILABLE IF LIBRARY SPACE PERMITS. ONCE THE LIBRARY IS FULL, ONLY MEMBERS WITH ANNUAL PASSES WILL BE ABLE TO GAIN ENTRANCE WHEN A SPACE IS MADE AVAILABLE.
2. If you wish to apply for a discounted annual pass (currently £15.00), available to students, please note that this is not automatically available. To obtain the pass you will first need to contact your school librarian.
They should have a form entitled:
'APPLICATION FOR A DISCOUNTED STUDENT ANNUAL LIBRARY PASS'
This form needs to be filled in, in advance, and sent to David Sharp, the Deputy Head of LIS. You can only obtain a discount on the annual pass if you are unable to gain access locally to the material you require for your studies. The form needs to be filled in carefully, explaining exactly what type of information you need and what resources have already been tried.
3. MUCH OF THE INFORMATION LISTED WILL BE AVAILABLE BY OTHER MEANS:
Your local library which has access to the inter-library loan system.
Your local library may have copies of Monthly Film Bulletin and Sight and Sound. Some of the recent newspaper items may be held in your local reference library.
