La partenza, il viaggio, la fortuna di arrivare vivi, l’accoglienza, il futuro. Daniel, un ragazzo nigeriano, è la voce narrante di un testo che vuole aiutare a comprendere meglio i tragitti fisici percorsi da chi vuole richiedere asilo politico in Europa e quelli simbolici che si compiono affrontando gli ostacoli che la vita pone sul cammino di ogni individuo, aiutando ciascuno di noi a mettersi nei panni dell’altro. Il senso di solitudine di chi sa che non potrà mai più vedere la sua famiglia, il razzismo, lo sfruttamento nei campi, la paura di deludere chi contava sulla sua partenza per continuare a vivere sono i sentimenti ricorrenti di ognuno di loro. “Non posso permettermi di fallire”, si ripetono le migliaia di giovani che ogni anno cercano di entrare nella Fortezza Europa.
