About this book
The research was initiated to determine the floristic diversity and forage quality including ensilability and mineral content of long-term (= 16 years) differentiated fertilised mowing pastures classified as Lolio-Cynosureten. At four different sites (= 210, 260, 360 and 620 m above sea-level) the factors N supply (= 0, 160 and 320 kg N ha-1 a-1), P supply (= 0, 60 and 120 kg P2O5 ha-1 a-1) and K supply (= 0, 80 and 160 kg K2O ha-1 a-1) were tested in 27 different supply combinations in a latin rectangle design with three replicates. DM yields of first growth and soil chemical values (= pH, P and K concentrations) were determined. Concerning floristic diversity the species number, Shannon- and Simpson-Index as well as Shannon- and Simpson-evenness were determined. Regarding the forage quality the concentrations of energy, crude protein, minerals, water-soluble carbohydrates and the buffering capacity were analysed.
