Die vorliegende Arbeit beschäftigt sich mit der Naturstoffklasse der Azaanthracenone. Einige Vertreter dieser Verbindungsklasse wurden in den vergangenen drei Jahrzehnten aus Pflanzen der Annonaceae Familie isoliert und weisen zytotoxische Eigenschaften gegen menschliche Tumorzellen auf. In dieser Arbeit werden erstmals effiziente und divergente Synthesestrategien fßr diese Klasse von Naturstoffen beschrieben. Basierend auf diesen Synthesewegen wurden zahlreiche Derivate dargestellt und in Zytotoxizitätsstudien auf ihre Aktivität gegen menschliche Krebszelllinien getestet. Dabei wurden einige Derivate der Naturstoffe mit deutlich gesteigerter Wirksamkeit identifiziert. Durch rationales Design konnten diese Verbindungen weiter optimiert und Struktur-Wirkungsbeziehungen gefunden werden.
