Die Arbeit beschreibt die Entwicklung von Mensch-Maschine-Systemen zur automatisierten Fahrzeugführung auf Basis systemergonomischer und anthropometrischer Auslegungskriterien. Die Definition eines spezifischen Automationsspektrums bildet die Grundlage eines Bedien- und Anzeigekonzepts für Fahrerassistenzsysteme der Fahrzeugführungsebene. Dieses generische Konzept dient der Handhabbarkeit der auf den Fahrer einwirkenden Systemkomplexität. Neben konkreten Bedienkonzepten für das gesamte Automationsspektrum wird ein Lösungsvorschlag für die Herausforderung der Hochautomation diskutiert, den Fahrer trotz einer vollständigen Übernahme der Fahraufgabe durch Automaten als Überwacher und Rückfallebene des Regelkreises verfügbar zu halten. Die in einen Versuchsträger integrierten, prototypischen Konzepte werden im Rahmen zweier experimenteller Fahrversuche auf einem Testgelände untersucht.
