Die Bedeutung des Nährstoffmanagements von Wirtschaftsdüngern und Gärresten hat in der jüngeren Vergangenheit verstärkt an Aufmerksamkeit gewonnen. Gründe dafür sind zum einen die zunehmende räumliche Konzentration der landwirtschaftlichen Nutztierhaltung, aber auch der massive Ausbau der Biogasproduktion – speziell nach Einführung des Güllebonus durch das EEG 2009. Diese Entwicklungen führen zu wachsenden Schwierigkeiten der tierhaltenden Betriebe bei der Einhaltung der nach Düngeverordnung zulässigen Ausbringungsmengen. Die Nährstoffsituation hat sich daher in vielen Regionen zunehmend verschärft. Zudem zeichnen sich gegenwärtig erhebliche Veränderungen im Bereich des Düngerechts ab, die ebenfallsin Zukunft eine intensive Auseinandersetzung mit der gegebenen Problematik erfordern werden.Vor diesem Hintergrund war es das Ziel der am 3. Juli 2014 in Hannover durchgeführten wissenschaftlichen Tagung "Nährstoffmanagement von Wirtschaftsdüngern und Gärresten", die ökonomischen, ökologischen, technischen und logistischen Fragestellungen hinsichtlich des Nährstoffanfalls aus Wirtschaftsdüngern und Gärresten zu diskutieren, eine Bestandsaufnahme vorzunehmen und mögliche Lösungswege aufzuzeigen. Der vorliegende Sammelband fasst die wichtigsten Ergebnisse der Tagung zusammen.
