Natürliche Verbundwerkstoffe wie Perlmutt oder Zahnschmelz weisen im Vergleich zu ihren Ausgangsmaterialien eine bemerkenswerte Kombination von Festigkeit, Steifigkeit und Schadenstoleranz auf. Zurückgeführt wird dies auf ihren hierarchischen Aufbau über mehrere Längenskalen. Inspiriert durch dieses Bauprinzip wurde in dieser Arbeit ein Ansatz zur Herstellung eines hierarchischen Keramik-Polymer-Verbundwerkstoffs untersucht. Über unterschiedliche Beschichtungsprozesse auf verschiedenen Längenskalen wurden die hierarchischen Ebenen mit Modellmaterialien sukzessive synthetisiert und mechanische und funktionelle Eigenschaften auf verschiedenen Ebenen sowie einflussgebende Parameter untersucht.Natural composites such as nacre or enamel exhibit a remarkable combination of strength, hardness, and damage tolerance when being compared to the attributes of their single constituents. This is believed to be the result of their hierarchical structuring on several length scales. Inspired by this building-principle in this work a process was investigated to create a hierarchical bulk ceramic-polymer-composite. By using different coating techniques for different length scales, successively hierarchical levels were synthesized using model materials. Subsequently mechanical and functional properties on different levels and influencing parameters were investigated.
