Wagner Moura filmou a biografia escrita por Mario Magalhães, Marighella, o guerrilheiro que incendiou o mundo. O filme estreou no Festival Internacional de Cinema de Berlim em fevereiro de 2019, e ainda não foi lançado no Brasil. O volume inclui o livro integral Por que resisti à prisão (1965); textos de análise política do país e a ruptura com o PCB, escritos sobre a luta armada, incluindo Frente a frente com a polícia e Cartas de Havana.
