About This Book
The research main aim is to investigate "the extent to which training is an effective method to improve employee performance." whereas some organisations give a lot of training to their employees to improve their performance, the research investigates if this is effective or not to advance the performance of employees considering an African context. If it is, then to what extent is such training effective and which kind of training in particular because sometimes employee's poor performance may be caused due to other issues both individual and organisational other than inadequate training? The research is a case study in medium sized company, Sonic Furniture Construction and Technical Services in Uganda. The researcher used qualitative methods which were supplemented by quantitative approaches for easy interpretation. The research was conducted by use of questioners and interviews. The results showed that to training is an effective method to improve employee performance in organisations because it comes along with tremendous development towards the employee and the organisation at large.
