Theodore Leighton Pennell (1867-1912) was a doctor and Christian missionary. He spent much of his time living with various tribes of Afghanistan and Pakistan, where he founded a missionary hospital. He was awarded the Kaisar-i-Hind Medal for Public Service in India. This fascinating volume is a record of his life's work beginning with his moving to Bannu in 1893 to introduce the gospel to those travelling in and out of Afghanistan.
