Die Studie fragt danach, wie sich die Teilhabe an einer Gemeinschaft als Teil des Aufwachsens unter den Bedingungen einer postmigrantischen Gesellschaft realisiert. Wie gelingt es heterogenen Jugendlichen, miteinander Gemeinschaft zu gestalten und welche Rolle spielen dabei kulturelle Unterschiede?Anhand einer standardisierten Befragung und leitfadengestützter Interviews mit Fachkräften, Ehrenamtlichen und Jugendlichen wird analysiert, wie Öffnungsprozesse in konfessionellen Jugendverbänden gestaltet werden können.Die Untersuchung macht deutlich, dass partizipatives Handeln die Grundlage interkultureller Öffnung ist, wenn es darum geht eine Gemeinschaft zu bilden – oder anders gesagt: Nur, wer wirklich teilhaben kann, wird sich auch als Teil unserer Gesellschaft fühlen. In der Jugendverbandsarbeit wird dies exemplarisch sichtbar.
