About This Book
Ergonomics is an applied science concerned with designing and arranging things people use, so that the people and things interact most efficiently and safely; as defined by Merriam-Webster. Ergonomics is a science concerned with the 'fit' between people and their work._x000D__x000D_The name 'ergonomics' comes from the Greek words 'ergon', which means work and 'nomos' which means law. The goal of ergonomics which is the scientific study of people at work is to prevent soft tissue injuries and musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) caused by sudden or sustained exposure to force, vibration, repetitive motion, and awkward posture. In all it can be said that ergonomics is a field of study that attempts to reduce strain, fatigue, and injuries by improving product design and workspace arrangement._x000D__x000D_The goal is to provide a comfortable, relaxed posture so as to increase efficiency and productivity of the worker at workplace.
