Atlantis

The Antediluvian World

About this book

The argument that Plato's Atlantis was a real place from which every civilisation descends, made in 1882 by an American congressman with a great deal of evidence and no restraint. It sold enormously, was believed by many, and is the source of nearly every Atlantis theory since. This edition adds fourteen plates of painting, among them works by Leon Brunin, Clarkson Frederick Stanfield and Knud Bull, and forty-six illustrations restored and coloured.
