This book brings together 12 previously unpublished language profiles based on the original Language Assessment, Remediation and Screening Procedure (LARSP). The languages featured are: Bangla, Croatian, Colombian Spanish, Inuktitut, Norwegian, Portuguese, Russian, Slovak, Slovenian, Swahili, Tamil and Turkish. Some of these languages are included as they are likely to be encountered as home languages of clients by speech-language therapists and pathologists working in the UK, the US, Australia and elsewhere. Others are included because they are languages found where speech-language pathology services are provided, but where no grammatical profile already exists. The collection will be an invaluable resource book for speech-language pathologists who wish to analyse and assess the grammatical abilities of their clients who speak one of these languages. This new collection complements previous books in this series on the same theme and together they cover 34 languages of the world.

Grammar & Punctuation1N-LARSP: A Developmental Language Profile for Norwegian
Ingeborg Sophie Ribu, Hanne Gram Simonsen, Morten Aase Løver, Bror-Magnus Sviland Strand and Kristian Emil Kristoffersen
Introduction
This chapter outlines the Norwegian version of the Language Assessment, Remediation and Screening Procedure (LARSP) profile chart, and the steps undertaken to develop this chart. As a background to the chart the chapter will also give a general overview of Norwegian grammar and what we know about first language acquisition of Norwegian grammar.
The LARSP profiles that exist for other Germanic languages (English, German and Dutch) are structured in quite different ways (Ball et al., 2012) and neither of them can be directly translated into Norwegian and still give a correct and comprehensive overview of the developmental stages of Norwegian child language acquisition.1 In adapting LARSP to Norwegian, we have tried to strike a balance between the wish to keep the LARSP profiles as similar as possible for reasons of cross-linguistic comparability, and the need for language-specific adjustments. Thus, the Norwegian LARSP chart, as it is outlined below, is inspired by the LARSP charts from other Germanic languages, but adapted in such a way that it accommodates to language-specific features of Norwegian. We have also tried to keep simplicity in mind, so that LARSP can be useful not only for researchers, but also for clinicians. Our aim has been to keep the profile as simple as possible to use in clinical settings, even for clinicians with little linguistic training.
