Información del libro

"Imagination to Manifestation provides a fascinating and helpful overview on the topic of intention setting. I highly recommend that you read this book."
— Tony Burroughs, Author & Cofounder, The Intenders of the Highest Good
"Weaving together truths from many of the world's wisdom traditions and illustrated with quotes from Gandhi, Einstein, Walt Whitman, Rumi, and many others, Mitch Cearbhall leads the reader on a journey into the world of intention, exploring the power we have to re-image our lives, finding fulfillment with each step we take into the Mystery of our purpose for being alive.
We are reminded of the crippling quality of negative attitudes, and the power of forgiveness to clean our mind of images which frustrate our better intentions. We learn to explore the differences between pleasure and happiness, and how to bring our mind into alignment with our intention. We go even deeper into the relationship between thoughts and emotions in both the conscious and subconscious mind, and see the benefits of being both strong and flexible as we develop virtue and find the power of gratitude to bring us to the threshold of revelation.
Of great benefit are the exercises in guided imagery and letting go of unhelpful thoughts so that we can reprogram our mind's tendencies to default to negative interpretations and pessimism. The work offers practical techniques to turn our mind so that we image forth our positive intention, allowing us to give and receive blessings throughout our lives.
This is truly 'an intender's handbook,' and all who dive deep into its message will find facets of wisdom which allow them to be more aware of when and how to turn negative attitudes to positive intention. Enjoy the journey of self-discovery, and become your highest intention!"

Chapter 8
THE PATH OF TRANSFORMATION
Transformation may require an incubation process—a cocooning—but it happens all at once. After transformation occurs, there’s no going back. You are on a new path.
We usually see transformation as positive, as something that leads to renewed possibility. It is defined as: “a thorough or dramatic change in form or appearance; synonyms include: change, alteration, mutation, conversion, metamorphosis, transfiguration, transmutation, sea change,” according to Google Online Dictionary.
Transformational change is different from developmental change or transitional change. With developmental change, “we learn new things and grow, but our understanding of ourselves and the world that we are a part of has not necessarily changed,” according to Jim Marsdon in his article, “A Journey of Transformation.
With transitional change, “we assess where we are today and where we would like to be in the future... then look at the gap between where we are now and where we’d like to be.” Again, no world-altering understanding has occurred, Marsdon points out.
Transformational change is different. It happens when “our foundational understanding of ourselves and the world around us significantly shifts. A transformation occurs when we go beyond the bounds of our current understanding and awareness. We cannot think our way through this change; we have to experience our way into it.”
Perhaps one of the most significant transformations people report comes through acceptance—accepting the way they are and/or accepting the way other people are. With acceptance, we give up expecting the “ideal” and instead accept the human reality. As with any other transformation, we can’t will acceptance with thought, we have to experience the change.
THE IDEAL
Greek philosopher, Plato, described “the ideal” as perfect and unattainable—the perfect flower that all other flowers are mere copies of; the perfect parent or hero that all other parents or heros only want to be.
This concept of “the ideal” was reaffirmed by physicist Sir Roger Penrose in his interpretation of quantum mechanics. According to Penrose, platonic constants, or “the ideal” is embedded in the structure of the universe, and within us. It lead us to “do the right thing” and to improve or evolve our consciousness over time as we stretch to reach the unachievable perfection of “Truth,” “Beauty,” and “Justice.”
According to the director of Harvard’s Primate and Cognitive Neuroscience Laboratory, Marc Hauser, “the ideal” does exist within us.
His internet-based research study, called the Moral Sense Test, published a report in 2003 gauging the moral intuitions of people from all over the world.
The results of the “Moral Sense Test” support the theory that there is a “universally shared moral faculty” common to all human beings and rooted in our evolutionary heritage:
Every human culture has some sort of moral code, and these overlap to a considerable extent. There is a common core of shared values such as trustworthiness, friendship, and courage, along with certain prohibitions, such as those against murder or incest. Some version of the golden rule—treat others as you would have them treat you—is also encountered in almost every society.
“Cafune:”
“The act of tenderly running one’s fingers
through the hair
of a loved one.”
a Brazilian word
“Hygge” by Meik Wiking
Trustworthiness, loyalty, courage, fortitude, honor, courtesy, sincerity, compassion, humility, and humor are qualities that define moral character for many different people in different places and times. Previous generations of Americans were taught that moral character was an important virtue and were given instruction on how to develop character. Students were requir...
