Informazioni sul libro

From the leading independent travel and style magazine Cereal comes Cereal City Guide: Paris: a portrait of the French capital offering a finely curated edit on what to see and do for discerning travelers and locals alike. Rich Stapleton and Rosa Park, Cereal's founders, travel extensively for the magazine and were inspired to create a series of city guides that highlighted their favorite places to visit. Now, after building a loyal readership that counts on their unique, considered advice, they are relaunching the books with a fresh design and new content. Rather than a comprehensive directory of all there is to see and do, these Cereal City Guides offer instead an edit of points of interest and venues that reflect Cereal's values in both quality and aesthetic sensibility. Rich and Rosa have personally visited hundreds of venues in Paris, distilling their preferred locales down to their firm favorites. From lively, local-filled cafes to design-driven boutiques that channel the inimitable Parisian savoir faire, these are the finds that that will offer a more personal take on the city. Meticulously researched and illustrated with original photography, each guide includes: photo essays of striking images of the cityan illustrated neighborhood mapinterviews and essays from celebrated locals such as Patrick Seguin of Galerie Patrick Seguin, artist Frederic Forest, and morelists of essential architectural points of interest, museums, galleries, day trips outside the city, and unique goods to buyan itinerary for an ideal day in Paris Cereal City Guide: Paris is a design-focused portrait of an iconic city, offering a distinctive look at the best museums, galleries, restaurants, and shops. PLACES TO VISIT

HÔTEL NATIONAL DES ARTS ET MÉTIERS

HOTEL
in LE MARAIS (3)
A calm refuge in a busy neighborhood, the new Hôtel National des Arts et Métiers is an elegant expression of celebrated designer and art director Raphael Navot’s first foray into hotel design. Placing an emphasis on the use of raw materials, most of which, like the majestic Paris stone columns, have been tempered by hand, the space is awash with a mineral color palette and fitted out with elegant, bespoke furniture. At night, visitors and guests mingle in the Italian restaurant downstairs, or take in the panoramic view on the rooftop terrace.

LES BAINS

HOTEL
in LE MARAIS (3)
Les Bains has been something of a chameleon over the centuries, and its storied past has placed it at the epicenter of Parisian culture. Once a nineteenth-century public bathhouse where Marcel Proust used to bathe, it was transformed into a legendary club, oft-compared to Studio 54 in the 1980s. Today, it’s been reborn as a luxury boutique hotel. Its rooms and suites have been elegantly furnished using raw materials including Carrara marble and mahogany, while finer details like sumptuous velvet sofas in jewel tones allude to its decadent history. Downstairs, the spacious restaurant and bar are furnished with checkered flooring and undulating ceilings that form the shape of giant water drops—perhaps an ode to the building’s first life. The latest incarnation of Les Bains retains its bohemian edge and provides an ideal base from which to explore the city.

AMASTAN

HOTEL
in MADELEINE (8)
This crisply furnished boutique hotel is a burst of energy in a quiet location, just off the Champs-Élysées. Relaxed service, office nooks, a library, and a jasmine-laced courtyard evoke a cozy home away from home, and leafy balconies are available with some rooms. The long marble-top bar is a source of healthy lunches and juices by day, and cocktails as it transitions to Bar Anouk by night. Plenty of buzz is generated with a pop-up art space and frequent drinks events.

HÔTEL BACHAUMONT

HOTEL
in SENTIER (2)
This well-appointed boutique hotel, located on a cobbled street in the buzziest part of the second arrondissement, is a welcome addition to the Paris hotel scene. The natty graphic decor, in cool shades of blue, green, and gray, is the signature of of-the-moment local designer Dorothée Meilichzon, whose quirky touch brings character and life to the rooms. Downstairs, the lively crew behind such popular haunts as the Experimental Cocktail Club and the Beef Club man the low-lit bar and the spacious, double-salon restaurant that serves up French bistro fare with a modern twist.
