There is no other way to say it… to be a Successful Leader during challenging times, you must be prepared to lead when called upon. It is so important to be a Big Believer in your own abilities to lead when those who must follow your leadership need you the most. When faced with a crisis or major challenge, no one will respect you as a leader if you do not believe in yourself and your ability to find a way forward. In simple words, “a leader must have confidence in their own abilities to lead.” Doubt is a major distraction to a leader. Successful Leaders must show a sense of confidence and competence at all times in order to be respected and supported by those who are following your leadership.

Believe it or not, each of us as leaders are being judged by those above and around us on how well we lead others and how we are able to get those who follow us to act with a sense of accountability and a desire to produce exceptional results. It is all about how you can accomplish success through others as much as is about what you as the leader getting credit for what you have accomplished. Successful Leaders know this and being under the critical observation of others can sometime cause stress and unwanted behaviors.

It’s important to know that each major challenge or crisis can provide learning experiences that can help them to become a successful leader, if we allow those experiences (successes and failures) to make us more competent and confident in leading others especially during challenging times.
