Die Grammatik des Deutschen verändert sich ständig. Grammatische Strukturen kommen und gehen. Im Fall des (jüngeren) Perfekts kann man gut beobachten, wie es seit mittelhochdeutscher Zeit das (ältere) Präteritum mehr und mehr überlagert und verdrängt (vgl. heute: danke, ich habe schon gegessen, aber nicht *danke, ich aß schon). Dieses Studienbuch führt zum Einen in die aktuelle Grammatikalisierungsforschung und ihre Theorien ein. Zum Anderen hat es die Entstehung und weitere Entwicklung der wichtigsten grammatischen Kategorien des Deutschen zum Gegenstand, z.B. den Negationswandel, die Herausbildung des Artikels und die Entwicklung neuer Hilfsverben wie haben, werden und bekommen. Auch die Entstehung neuer Konjunktionen wie dass, weil, obwohl und Präpositionen wie neben, mithilfe, im Vorfeld wird auf verständliche Weise dargestellt. An solchen und anderen Beispielen werden verschiedene Aspekte und Modelle der Grammatikalisierung diskutiert wie z.B. die kognitiven Grundlagen des Bedeutungswandels oder das Phänomen der Reanalyse. Dieses Buch richtet sich an Studierende wie Lehrende der germanistischen Linguistik und bietet Einblicke in aktuelle Forschungsgebiete der historischen Sprachwissenschaft.--------------------------
