Der Band versucht, "die Zeitlichkeit der mĂźndlichen Sprache ernst zu nehmen" (Auer), und berĂźcksichtigt Linearität und Prozessualität als konstitutive Strukturmerkmale der (gesprochenen) Sprache systematisch bei deren Beschreibung und Analyse. Dahinter steht die Ăberzeugung, dass das natĂźrliche Ordnungsprinzip der Zeit sich nicht nur in den Gesprächen selbst niederschlägt, sondern auch fĂźr die wissenschaftliche Betrachtung gesprochener Sprache in Anschlag gebracht werden muss. Der Schwerpunkt liegt auf der Syntax der gesprochenen Sprache, auch wenn ein ausschlieĂlich syntaktischer Blick auf sprachliche Strukturen der interaktionalen Praxis nicht sinnvoll ist und deshalb durch semantisch-pragmatische Ăberlegungen, sequenzielle Gliederungsmerkmale und prosodische Abschnittsbildung ergänzt wird. Dadurch wird ein wichtiger Beitrag zu einer realistischen, prozessorientierten und interaktionsbezogenen Beschreibung der gesprochenen Sprache geleistet.
