Die Professionalisierung und der Abschied von den Zeitzeug(inn)en lenken die Aufmerksamkeit auf die vielfĂ€ltigen pĂ€dagogischen und psychologischen Fragen, die die Mitarbeiter(innen) bei ihrer Arbeit zu berĂŒcksichtigen haben und die bisher nicht zusammengefasst worden sind.Da das Wissen, das durch NS-GedenkstĂ€tten vermittelt wird, tief verunsichernd ist, braucht pĂ€dagogische Vermittlung an diesen Orten Orientierung - fĂŒr Besucher(innen) und Mitarbeiter(innen) von GedenkstĂ€tten gleichermaĂen. Um den verschiedenen Funktionen von GedenkstĂ€tten im Spannungsfeld zwischen Wissensvermittlung und Gedenken gerecht zu werden, ist eine NeuverstĂ€ndigung ĂŒber realistische Ziele und zeitgemĂ€Ăe Methoden nötig.Im Rahmen des Bundesmodellprojekts "GedenkstĂ€ttenpĂ€dagogik und Gegenwartsbezug - SelbstverstĂ€ndigung und Konzeptentwicklung" haben PĂ€dagog(inn)en aus 12 GedenkstĂ€tten in Deutschland, Ăsterreich und Polen ein Berufsbild GedenkstĂ€ttenpĂ€dagogik entwickelt. Ein Praxisteil mit Ăbungen zur Selbstreflexion zeigt auf, wie Qualifizierung und Weiterbildung in diesem Arbeitsfeld aussehen kann.
