Denn die Geschichte der gesamten Region war geprägt durch die Großstadt Stettin als dem wichtigsten politischen und wirtschaftlichen Zentrum. Und so richtet die Greifswalder Historikerin Kyra Inachin den Blick ganz bewusst auf beide Seiten der deutsch-polnischen Grenze, auch wenn Vorpommern den Schwerpunkt der Abhandlung bildet.
