Der BTI informiert über den Stand von Demokratie und Marktwirtschaft und bietet umfassende und systematische Vergleichsdaten über die Qualität der politischen Gestaltungsleistung in 128 Transformationsländern im Zeitraum von 2007 bis 2009. Aus aktuellem Anlass fasst diese Auskoppelung aus dem BTI die Daten für die Transformationsländer im Nahen Osten und Nordafrika zusammen. Neben einem Überblick über die gesamte Region sind auch alle Gutachten (in englischer Sprache) für die Länder Ägypten, Algerien, Bahrain, Irak, Iran, Jemen, Jordanien, Katar, Kuwait, Libanon, Libyen, Marokko, Oman, Saudi-Arabien, Sudan, Syrien, Türkei, Tunesien und Vereinigte Arabische Emirate enthalten.
